Craft Beer Revolution?
Have you noticed the beer selection growing at your local grocery store? Amongst the Miller, Budweiser and Coors you now find strange brand names.
Yes indeed, the Craft Beer Revolution is here! No more reign of the light lager.
Check out the floor display at my local grocery store. Magic Hat, Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada and my local brewery, Legend of Richmond, VA (with one of the best Brown Ales EVER)...
***Did You Know***
90% of all beer consumed is considered a Pale or Light Lager; that includes Miller, Budweiser, Coors, Corona and Heineken.
There are so many styles of beer; some as fine as an aged bottle of wine. Why limit yourself to one style when beer has so much more to offer?
Since much earlier than I should have I've had a love for beer. In the early years I'm sure it had more to do with the danger of getting caught with a Miller High Life turned up to my mouth than appreciating the actual taste of beer.
But over the years I've matured, I now drink to savor the flavor.
So that brings me here, acting as a passionate advocate for craft beer.
Craft beer is not about drinking until you can't stand; it's not about seeing how many you can take down at one sitting; it's not about beer bongs or quantity over quality. So if that's what you're looking for you may want to go ahead and jump ship now.
Craft beer is for the matured beer lover (and trust me "matured" is not referring to age, there are many who are up in age and still haven't matured...when it comes to beer of course).
Here at Craftbeerology there is only one mission; to educate and convert all of those, "I don't like beer!" naysayers into, "You know that's good stuff!" beer lovers.
For just about every taste tolerance there is a beer to match it. I've already converted a few family members and friends. It's a proud moment when I ask, "Okay, so what do you like?" and then match them up with an IPA (India Pale Ale) or Hard Cider that fits the bill..."That's really good!" they say, "I KNOW!"
This is the way I look at it, how do you know whether or not you like or dislike something unless you give it a try?
No in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter whether you like beer or not. But, isn't it nice when you're able to sample some of the wonderful things life has to offer?
So they say Benjamin Franklin said, "Beer is evidence that God wants us to be happy." With a little research I discovered that's not quite what he said...but then again, how many of us were actually there?
Yes, I do believe God loves us and wants us to be happy, not drunks but happy. And let me tell you, a soothing glass of barleywine (that's a style of beer not wine...hang with me and I'll introduce you two a little later) after a long day at work makes me very happy.
Trying some of the specialty beer selections available at your local market or specialty wine/beer store is just one way to let the cares of the day fade away.
I tell you, it's just a really cool world to explore and if you'll hang out with me for awhile I'll be your guide...
